Clark Realty Capital is partnering with Safeway to redevelop the store in Tenleytown to include about 150 apartments above a new Safeway along with 10-15 townhouses. Plans were submitted in 2009, but then abandoned when the city and neighbors criticized the plans. Now the company is gathering neighborhood feedback before putting forth a revised proposal.
