Braddock Place

Braddock Gateway is a new mixed-use project consisting primarily of apartments along with office and retail. The multiphase project will be located near the Braddock Road Metro in Alexandria and is being developed by Jaguar Development and designed by Rust | Orling Architecture. In December 2011 Washington Real Estate Investment Trust (WRIT) partnered with Trammell Crow to purchase the site of phase 1 from Jaguar for $13.9 million and develop the a 15-story building. Located two blocks from the Braddock Road Metro, construction is expected to start in Q4 2012 and take two years. WRIT is contributing 95% of the equity stake with Trammell Crow contributing 5%. Jaguar will continue to develop the remaining phases with the Trammell / WRIT partnership having the option to purchase later. When complete the development could contain as many as 800 residences and about 75,000 sq. ft. of commercial space.
