1737 Connecticut Avenue will either consist of four or six luxury condos on the upper floors, and a wine bar on the street level. Dario Davies, a principal of project architect FormDesign, the group that bought the building and will be doing the design, has said that if six units are built there will be five one-bedroom/dens (averaging 850 square feet) and a 1,600 square-foot two-bedroom duplex. The development was originally announced in early 2010, with a completion date this year, but that timeline has been pushed back. The building, which was gutted, will also house a wine bar on the ground floor from the operators of Bedrock Billiards. The building used to be home to Italian restaurant Anna Maria’s.
