A month ago, UrbanTurf reported that an Amazon concept will likely replace the old Giant grocery store in Friendship Heights. And, because there is a covenant requiring an on-site grocery store in The Collection at Chevy Chase development, there is a good chance that the new store will have a grocery component.
But what would an Amazon grocery store look like? A new piece from Bloomberg reveals that it would likely look like most other grocery stores, with a few Amazon touches.

Bloomberg got a look inside the company's first grocery concept located in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. While the store would largely look like a typical grocery store with numbered aisles, a deli counter and coolers set up throughout, Bloomberg noted that there will be windows for order pickups and returns, as well as a TV display likely to be used to organize pickups and deliveries. The company has said that the grocery concepts will not be "cashierless" like the Amazon Go stores.
UrbanTurf will continue to provide updates on the new store in Friendship Heights, which could open by the end of the year.
