A Three-Bedroom Langdon Cape Cod in Five Days

We featured this three-bedroom Langdon Cape Cod in Best New Listings last week and it found a buyer just a day ago. At some point, the interior of the home was renovated, which means that it carried a higher price tag than similarly sized properties in the neighborhood, but it spreads out nicely over its almost 2,000 square feet. There is a finished lower level, a front porch, a good-sized backyard and off-street parking.

There are no indications that the competitive Capitol Hill market is cooling off, and this three-bedroom Victorian on the Hill is further evidence of the trend. It was renovated by the owner, a landscape architect and features a very cool kitchen with a wood-beamed ceiling, a screen porch lined with lockers that leads out to a patio and the original pine floors have been preserved throughout the listing. Downstairs, a rec room has low ceilings as well as a bit of a 1960s surfer vibe. Also featured last week, the 10th Street listing was under contract in four days.

Here’s another beautifully renovated Capitol Hill rowhouse that flew off the market in under a week. The four-bedroom features multi-level spaces and careful use of exposed brick to make a visitor feel like they’re exploring a castle, with cozy places to chat, window seats to read, built-in bookshelves, a loft in one bedroom, a study with a library at the top of the stairs and a built-in breakfast nook in the updated kitchen. Downstairs is an rental unit. We knew this wouldn’t last long when we featured it; it was gone in under a week.
