Under Contract: Quality Homes Do Not Stay on the Market Long

  • April 30th 2010

by Mark Wellborn

In Under Contract this week, we take a look at a few properties featured on UrbanTurf over the last week and a half that went under contract within 14 days of hitting the market.

Columbia Heights Two-Bedroom With One Heck of a Living Room

We selected this Columbia Heights two-bedroom unit for last week’s Best New Listings and it went under contract earlier this week. The best part of the unit is undoubtedly the open living/kitchen/dining room space above. In addition to floor-to-ceiling windows and a gas fireplace, the room also has a large kitchen island and high ceilings. The listing price for the unit also includes a parking space, but for the carless, the Columbia Heights Metro is just about a five-minute walk.

Renovated 1936 Home in Takoma With 21st Century Look

This four-bedroom in Takoma was featured in our Best Open Houses last week and went under contract a few days ago, right after the listing price dropped by $30K. Even though it has been completely renovated, this 1936 home in Takoma still has a lot of old style charm with just a few new 21st-century touches. The property now has a main level with an enormous living room, eat-in kitchen and sitting room, in addition to three bedrooms on the second level and a finished basement with a fourth bedroom.

An (Almost) Picture Perfect Three-Bedroom in Mount Pleasant

Under Contract: Quality Homes Do Not Stay on the Market Long: Figure 3

Just two days after we featured this home earlier this week, it went under contract and we are not surprised. We had a lot of trouble picking out things that might be wrong with the three-bedroom property in Mount Pleasant. Elevated from the street, the home has a nice front porch, a living room with a fireplace, a separate dining room and a kitchen with an enormous window that looks out to a back patio. The master bedroom is quite big and the smallest of the three bedrooms has a nice balcony off of it. We did find the one downside: the home has just 1.5 bathrooms.
