Under Contract: Two Luxe Homes in Forest Hills and a Bloomingdale Townhouse
In this week’s Under Contract, UrbanTurf looks back at properties it has featured recently that were snatched up by DC’s alert buyers.
A Midcentury Modern in Forest Hills Gone After a Month
This home, featured in This Week’s Find earlier this summer, sat on the market for 32 days before selling. The buyer might’ve been swayed by the fully renovated interior, the adjacent Rock Creek Park or perhaps the custom-built treehouse out back.
- Full Listing: 4550 Broad Branch Road NW (map)
- Asking Price: $2 million
- Days on Market: Two
- Bedrooms: Six
- Bathrooms: 3.5
- Year Built: 1959
- Listing Agents: Kathleen Eder, Towne Residential
Less than a Week for this Luxe Two-Bedroom
This unit on Connecticut Avenue in Forest Hills was updated to an exacting standard; the kitchen in particular looks nothing like what you’d find in most DC condos, which may have been the convincing factor in this unit’s quick sale. The separate dining room off the kitchen makes this a great space for entertaining. The 1,600 square-foot unit also comes with its own parking space.
- Full Listing: 3901 Connecticut Avenue NW #301 (map)
- Asking Price: $814,750
- HOA Fee: $692/month
- Days on Market: Five
- Bedrooms: Two
- Bathrooms: Two
- Year Built: 1920
- Listing Agent: Christopher Sanders, Century 21 Redwood Realty
A Bloomingdale Townhouse Gone in Five Days
On the market at the same time and for the same duration as the unit on Connecticut, this renovation in Bloomingdale near the eastern edge of LeDroit Park boasted great design. The first floor has lots of entertaining space, and upstairs the bedrooms are fairly spacious; downstairs there’s a finished basement that could use a bit more finishing in the future. The home has a deep backyard with a deck, a stone path leading from a parking pad and a mature tree. We don’t think the mannequin hidden in the listing photos was included in the asking price, but you never know.
- Full Listing: 61 W Street NW (map)
- Asking Price: $729,900
- Days on Market: Five
- Bedrooms: Three
- Bathrooms: 2.5
- Year Built: 1912
- Listing Agent: Christopher Bulka, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage
Correction: An earlier version of this post indicated the home at 4550 Broad Branch Road NW took two days to sell. It actually took 32 days. UrbanTurf regrets the error.
