The DC Area's Most Expensive Home Sales in 2019: Georgetown is King

A look at the most expensive home sales in the DC area this year shows that one neighborhood reigns above all others.

The most expensive home sale in the DC region this year is a recently-renovated, 8,500 square-foot Georgetown home. The eight-bedroom house has an impressive exterior, with stone lions standing sentinel on either side of the entrance. The interior living space is abundant, with the main level anchored by a sunroom that spans the entire floor. The finished basement has checkerboard flooring, a built-in bar, an extensive wine cellar, and a second kitchen with two farmhouse sinks. The property also has an elevator, a spacious limestone patio with pergola and a two-car attached garage. Originally listed for $7.99 million, the home sold for $6.8 million.
