A report out this week that looks at the luxury housing market in the Mid-Atlantic identifies a Virginia community as the most active market in the region.
Bright MLS published the Mid-Atlantic Luxury Housing Report on Tuesday, which takes stock of the highest end of the housing market in DC, Maryland, Virginia and parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In addition to some interesting findings about the market -- luxury homes are selling for above asking price and cash buyers are very active -- the report found that the DC suburbs lead the way for the luxury market, and that McLean, Virginia was particularly active.
"McLean, Virginia (zip code 22101) had the highest number of luxury sales in the second quarter, and two-thirds of all transactions were luxury sales," according to the report.
Specifically, there were 75 luxury home sales in McLean in the second quarter, and four of the five priciest homes to sell in the Mid-Atlantic were in the 22101 zip code.
