Douglas Development's plans to construct a warehouse at the site of a long-planned project in Ivy City are moving forward.

The plans for the 15-acre triangular site at the intersection of New York and Montana Avenues and Bladensburg Road NE (map) are a change from what was pitched a decade ago. New CityDC was originally proposed around 2015 and included a project with 550,000 square feet of retail, 156 hotel rooms, 430 apartments and 2,800 parking spaces.
While there has been no movement on that concept, Douglas told a local ANC a few months ago that it is moving forward with the warehouse plan now, but watching markets to see when it makes sense to move forward with the rest of the project.
