Compass Coffee Will Open at Old Georgetown Theater
The old Georgetown Theater on Wisconsin Avenue NW has been vacant for several years, but now we know at least one tenant that will occupy the building.
Compass Coffee will open a coffeeshop at the former theater at 1351 Wisconsin Avenue NW, UrbanTurf has learned. Compass is requesting a special exception to build an eating and drinking establishment with 112 seats. Current zoning limits the total seating to 18 customers.

In late 2011, the National Jewel Center closed its doors at the former theater, which has been vacant ever since. In 2013, architect Robert Bell purchased the theater with plans for a project with office, retail and residential components.
No word yet on when Compass Coffee will open its doors.
