In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, UrbanTurf looks at a colonial revival in Takoma Park, a custom-built contemporary in Arlington, and a park-front rowhouse in Mount Pleasant.

Pink and Baby Blue in Takoma Park
Behind the pastel exterior of this Takoma Park colonial revival is a well-maintained and charming three-bedroom. Like many homes built in the 1920s, this one has lots of woodworking around the doors and windows. The kitchen has been renovated in a modern style, and one of UrbanTurf’s favorite features is a back patio, which is brick-lined and has a pond.

Contemporary Custom Built in 1986
This Arlington home was custom built in the mid-1980s, and has an open, contemporary feel. The most striking design element may be the living room’s vaulted, wooden ceiling. The upper floor bedrooms have vaulted ceilings as well, and a line of windows at the roof-line brings in a lot of light.

Mount Pleasant Rowhouse With Views of the Park
UrbanTurf is in a bit of a Mount Pleasant state of mind this week. This listing is a stately rowhouse next to Rock Creek Park, with views straight into the tree-filled area. Columns near the entrance and a dramatic staircase amplify the stately feel, but perhaps the home’s most interesting features are two fireplaces placed towards the back of the house, one near the kitchen and one in the sitting room of the master suite. Naturally, we also liked the clawfoot bathtub in the master bath.
