In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, we look at a three-bedroom within a block of the Capitol, a renovated bungalow in Michigan Park and a Logan Circle two-bedroom with wide-plank wood floors reminiscent of lofts in New York City.
A Three-Bedroom Within a Block of the Capitol

Homes within a stone’s throw of the Capitol building don’t come on the market all that often, which makes this three-bedroom house, which sits about a half block from the iconic DC building, a fairly rare opportunity for some buyer out there. The wood floors in the house are salvaged heart of pine that were brought from out of state, the main level is long and expansive with exposed brick and has a kitchen with custom cabinets and Viking appliances. The listing also has a landscaped backyard as well as a rear parking spot.

Three-Bedroom Renovated Bungalow in Michigan Park

This three-bedroom bungalow in Michigan Park is typical of the housing stock in the northeast neighborhood, but unlike a lot of homes in the area it has undergone extensive upgrades in the past couple years including a new kitchen, a finished basement, and a new central A/C system. (However, the original wood-burning fireplace and hardwood floors have been preserved.) The deep backyard and front porch are similar to what one might see in upper northwest DC, but the price is about a third of what a home in those areas cost.

Wide Plank Floors and Wood-Burning Fireplace in Logan Circle Two-Bedroom

Located on Corcoran Street just off 14th Street, this two-bedroom unit in Logan Circle has wide wood plank floors that remind UrbanTurf of the floors in some New York City lofts. The two-level condo also has a large living area with a wood-burning fireplace and vaulted beam ceilings, and the second level houses both bedrooms, a washer/dryer and gets a good deal of natural light from a large skylight.
