In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, we look at a two-bedroom unit with a loft at the Carbery School in Capitol Hill, a renovated four-bedroom home not far from Historic Anacostia and a Chevy Chase-looking home in 16th Street Heights.

Two-Bedroom With Loft At Carbery School in Capitol Hill
This two-bedroom unit is located at the historic Carbery School just north of Stanton Park in Capitol Hill. The Carberry School was built in the late 1880s and converted to 43 boutique condo units in 1987. The featured unit has a loft space in addition to two bedrooms as well as 12-foot ceilings, six large windows, a wood-burning fireplace, and a parking space included in the list price. The car-less shouldn’t fret, though, as the building is just about a nine-minute walk from the Metro at Union Station. For the full listing, click here.

Renovated Four-Bedroom Home Located Just North of Historic Anacostia

Perhaps it is renovated homes like this one that are making neighborhoods east of the river attractive to home buyers that are looking for bargains off the beaten path. This four-bedroom home falls just outside the northern border of Historic Anacostia, and was a foreclosure that was purchased last year and then completely rehabbed. While the home has been gussied up with the usual package of upgrades, the seller is also hoping to entice buyers by offering help with closing costs. For the full listing, click here.

A Chevy Chase Home in 16th Street Heights

A number of homes in 16th Street Heights look similar to those in Chevy Chase, but the price tags are normally a good $200,000 to $300,000 less expensive. This Madison Street listing is more expensive than others of its size in the neighborhood, but it has a number of features to justify its asking price. There is a large front porch, spacious separate living and dining spaces, three bedrooms on the second level including one with a separate sitting room attached, and a top level that has space for a bedroom and a separate living area. The listing also has a finished lower level and a two-car garage. For the full listing, click here.
