Arlington Resident a Finalist For Roommate of the Year
Columbia Pike resident Jesse McLaughlin is a finalist for Apartment.com’s contest to find the country’s best roommate, ArlNow.com reports. The winner of the annual contest, which started in late April, will get “free rent” for a year (up to $10,000), plus an additional $10,000 spending money.
Contestants were required to submit a video of two minutes or less “illustrating what makes [them] America’s most desirable living companion.” There are four categories, one for those that like to keep things tidy and pay the bills on time (Loveable Compulsive), one for those who keep it green (The Environmentalist) or are pet-friendly and one for just being an all-around superstar roomie (fittingly, The All Star Roomie category).
A description of McLaughlin’s video from ArlNow.com:
McLaughlin, a security analyst, advanced to the finals thanks to a humorous contest entry video that showcased his willingness to do the dishes, clean the bathroom, pay for pizza, make dessert and perform other feats of roommate courtesy.
While it is not in the same league (humor-wise) as the now-legendary Arlington rap video, UrbanTurf wishes Jesse the best of luck. Readers can vote for him here until July 31st.
