Add another residential development to the pipeline coming to Columbia Pike.

The Christopher Companies has filed plans with Arlington County for a new 88-unit residential development at 2801 Columbia Pike (map), currently home to a two-level commercial building. The new project, designed by Devereaux Architects and Planners, would rise 7 stories, have two levels of underground parking and 5,800 square feet of retail space.

"The Applicant has worked diligently to balance the County's transit and historic preservation goals," the developer's application stated. "To that end, the applicant proposes to preserve the building's historic facade while also accommodating the setback necessary to meet the needs for the transit platform planned on Columbia Pike."

The new development will set just next to The Elliott, a six-story building with 248 apartments with a new CVS pharmacy and a grocery store that recently received approval from the Arlington County Board.
