Senate Passes Bill to Extend Homebuyer Credit

The Senate voted late Wednesday to extend the $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit. The credit is extended to contracts signed by April 30th and closed on by June 30th. The new bill also includes a $6,500 credit for existing homeowners who have been in their current residence for at least five years. More after the jump.
