Redevelopment of Giant grocery store to the south of McLean Gardens and near the National Cathedral on Wisconsin Avenue. The new Giant will be approximately 56,000 sq. ft with another 128,000 sq. ft. of retail. The residential component will consist of 137 apartments and 8 townhomes. Developed in a joint venture between Giant and Bozzuto with Southside Investment Partners working on the retail. Development was delayed for years due to local resident resistance. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2012 with the new Giant grocery store hoping to open by year-end 2013.
