Founders Square is a new mixed-use development consisting of office, residential, hotel and retail space being developed by The Shooshan Company. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), inventors of the internet, GPS, and stealth aircraft technology, signed a $14.7 million per year lease to occupy a new secure office building at Founders Square in the summer of 2009. Two residential buildings were planned for the site - the north building and the south building, but the south building was switched to a 183-room Residence Inn hotel (delivering 2013). The 17-story north building will feature 7,200 sq. ft. of ground floor retail. Construction is expected to start in Q1 2012 provided the developer can obtain construction financing.
