North Bethesda

In February 2012 The Peterson Cos. announced a $320M joint venture with DRI Development to construct Rock Spring Centre, a 1 million sq. ft. mixed-use, town center-style project on Old Georgetown Rd in North Bethesda. The development will include 210,000 sq. ft. of retail, 550,000 sq. ft. of office, 90,000 sq. ft. in entertainment uses (including a multi-screen movie theater), a 200-room hotel, and 161 residential units (including 44 MPDUs). The site was previous planned for a Canyon Ranch luxury resort. Movie theater operator Silverspot signed on as the anchor tenant in May 2012.
