CityCenterDC is a new multi-building, mixed-use development spanning 5 city blocks at the site of the old DC convention center. Developed by Hines and Archstone, phase 1 construction started in the spring of 2011. Phase 1 includes a 458-unit (non-smoking), two-tower apartment project designed by Foster + Partners along with condos, office, and retail space. Later phases include a hotel and additional office and retail space. 20% of the residential units will be set aside for affordable housing.
