New Development Profiles
The Lacey
The Lacey, a brand new 26-unit condo development at 11th Street and Florida Avenue, is perhaps the only condo in DC that pays homage to a restaurant. Not only is it located right next to the famed Florida Avenue Grill, but it is also named in honor of the restaurant’s long-time proprietors, Lacey Wilson Sr. and Lacey Wilson Jr. However the connections end there as The Lacey, with its box-like façade of glass, steel and concrete seems to be ushering in a new contemporary look to this historic DC neighborhood. » More
CityVista
It is not in the trendiest location in DC, but the CityVista development has made Mount Vernon Square a destination for home buyers by bringing amenities and services to their doorstep. With a gym, grocery store, and wildly popular coffee shop in the development, residents have little need to ever go outside. “When I get home that’s it,” a current resident told UrbanTurf. “I don’t need to go anywhere.” » More
Axis Condos
The website for Axis Condos immediately excites the reader with mention of "thumbprint door access," a feature that summons some type of James Bond-like theme. Unfortunately, this feature did not make it into the final product, however 90 percent of what the developers wanted did make it and, as a result, there are a number of features that help separate Capitol Hill’s newest luxury condos from developments in more popular DC zip codes. » More
Abingdon Row
Abingdon Row has the look, at least from the outside, of a place that Thomas Jefferson might have wanted to live if he were around today. However, while the arched windows and columns give off the feel of an 18th century estate, the sleek interior is that of a 21st century luxury condo. » More
The Metropole
It has been a long time coming, but The Metropole finally had its grand opening last night, complete with spotlights, security guards, life-size Oscar statues and hundreds of guests. As luxury condos in DC go, you would be hard-pressed to find a more anticipated project than this seven-story development. The question is: Was it worth the wait? » More
The Chase at Bethesda
As far as luxury condo developments go in Bethesda, The Chase at Bethesda is one of the area’s more affordable options. The development has small one-bedrooms in the low $300,000s and two-bedrooms in the mid-$500s while other buildings in the same zip code have far more expensive listings at comparable sizes. Take into account that these prices include a private parking space and access to the building’s fitness center, outdoor swimming pool, and two tennis courts, and it ends up looking like a great deal. » More
Butterfield House
While Butterfield House may look like it has been in Capitol Hill for years, the red-brick development was actually built from the ground up in 2007 on the site of a former gas station. However, it fits in so well with the row houses of the neighborhood, that it is very hard to tell that it is new construction. » More
Cromley Lofts
The building that currently houses Cromley Lofts in Alexandria has served many different purposes over the past century (commercial steam laundry, meeting hall, artist lofts). In 2004, local builder William Cromley bought the building and turned it into eight very impressive residential lofts while preserving aspects from the property's former lives. » More
Parker Flats
Parker Flats at Gage School is a condo development near Howard University that used to be an elementary school. Many of the school's most attractive features were maintained and incorporated into the units which makes for some quite unique properties. » More
