   On the row house in Shaw: if you’re buying the whole row house, why would there be any condo fees?  I’ve heard of that when the house is divided up into separately-owned units, but never in a case like this.

   @ Rob—You are not buying the whole house if you buy the Shaw listing. I am pretty sure that there is another unit in the house that is not for sale.

   I’m pretty confused by this as well… the address says 1811 8th Street NW, #1. So is Unit #1 a condo that is further seperated into 2 units? Never seen this before…

   We have revised the post to more clearly state that you are not buying two units with the Shaw property, rather one unit that has two levels. Each level with two bedrooms.

   I don’t get it.  The Shaw house is so overpriced and definitely not staged to sell.  Completely ordinary.

   The place near H Street seems the best bet by far. The Shaw one is way overpriced (and, agreed, staged poorly), the Meridian Park one is nice but HATE those floors and its still only got 2 bedrooms. Plus, though its a gated community, isn’t the general Meridian Park area still not quite safe enough to justify the premium over H Street (per sqft)?

   Lots more going on in the H Street area (nightlife, new development), lots more house for your buck and it’s staged really nicely.

   For $625K, you could go to Petworth, buy a 2,200 sq. ft. (or larger) house @ $525K with off-street parking, have $100K budget for a nice renovation, and still be close to all the action.
