What Does $320K Buy You in DC?

The photo above probably brings to mind Big Apple lofts that you have seen in the movies or on TV (at least it did for us). However, this two-bedroom, 1.5-bath loft is in the most unlikely of places in DC: on the corner of Colorado Avenue and Military Road in Brightwood. The true asset of this unit is the living and kitchen area which features two 20-foot walls covered in windows, bamboo floors, and a large, open floorplan. The downside to this unit is that the bedrooms are rather small, but given its price, we imagine that most prospective buyers will be willing to compromise. More details and photos below.

Great unit. Brightwood is not the best area in DC, but it is coming along.

I toured these units when they went on sale (for a lot more than current listings)

There are some stunning spaces in this building, but I think most units were designed too aggressively space-wise.  What is a crappy 2 bedroom could’ve been a great 1 bedroom, and so forth.

woah. Such a great example of “location location location.”  If it were closer to metro in NW you could probably get 700k for it.

Metro sux. In that location the Georgia Ave Express Bus (#79) is your route downtown. It has yet to kill half a dozen people at once, so I prefer it above Red Line. Think beyond the trains.
