Contemporary Two-Bedroom Condo in Lanier Heights

This two-bedroom condo is in Lanier Heights, the surprisingly quiet neighborhood nestled between Mount Pleasant and Adams Morgan that is very close to the action in both neighborhoods, but gets hardly any thru traffic due to its location. The unit is spread out over two floors with two bedrooms upstairs and a bright living room and small galley kitchen downstairs. Built in 1994, the architecture is pretty modern and residents have access to a shared patio and garage parking.

Bloomingdale Two-Bedroom Renovated By Someone With Particular Taste

In 2008, this 1,400 square-foot Bloomingdale two-bedroom was renovated by someone with very particular tastes; what the listing describes as “European-style” means a built-in espresso maker in the kitchen, body jets in the shower, and white textured moldings, brick and tile everywhere. The unit sits on the lower two levels of a row house, and comes with parking and an installed security system. It has been jumping on and off the market since last October.

  • Full Listing: 2223 1st Street NW, #1 (map)
  • Price: $525,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: 2.5
  • Square Footage: 1,400
  • Listing Agent: Steven Wydler, Long & Foster

Four-Bedroom Fairfax House with 1980s Vibe

Built in 1983, this four-bedroom detached home has just over 3,000 square feet for a family to work with, and with its mirrored closets and carpets throughout, it has a decidedly 1980s vibe that the new owners may want to update. The house is very close to Lee Highway, five minutes from I-66, and is about a 30-minute drive from DC.

  • Full Listing: 3809 Hemlock Way, Fairfax, VA (map)
  • Price: $519,000
  • Bedrooms: Four
  • Bathrooms: Three
  • Year Built: 1983
  • Listing Agent: Bruce Tyburski, Choice Properties

That’s it? Not a great spectrum of availability, in my not-so-humble opinion. Where’s the killer row home located on the upside of an up-and-coming area? I know that’s out there for this price point, or are you keeping them to yourselves smile

The Fairfax home is so…uninspiring. And it seems so outside the type of propoerties most readers of this site would be interested in. I agree with Bryan, where’s the renovated rowhouse? Petworth has many fully renovated homes in this price range; you could probably also find similar homes of interest around H Street, Eckington, etc.
