Tuesday’s Deal of the Week: $200K Studio in Dupont Circle

by Mark Wellborn

image

Some home buyers must live near the lively part of a city, regardless of the compromises that they may have to make. This week’s Deal of the Week is chosen with that type of buyer in mind.

This Dupont Circle studio hit the market about two days ago, and at $207,000 it is one of the least expensive in the neighborhood, and at 362 square feet it is also one of the smallest. (Note: We were only able to find two smaller units on the market in the whole city.) The sixth floor efficiency makes up for its small size (a Murphy bed folds up into the wall) with large windows and a decent-sized kitchen. There is also a community roof deck if you find yourself getting claustrophobic. Despite its size, the buyer will be in one of DC’s more popular neighborhoods, and not paying through the nose to live there: the monthly mortgage payments are about $900. More photos and info below. Interesting find. I probably couldn’t do it, but I am sure someone wants to live in the neighborhood bad enough.

Hmm, despite the great location, I could only imagine living in a place that small for a year or maybe 2, so even though the price is reasonable I’d lose money on realtor’s fees.
