Velocity in Capitol Riverfront

This weekend the 200-unit Velocity in Capitol Riverfront will hold its grand opening. On both Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th from 11am to 5pm, refreshments will be served and four model units will be open to the public.

Located at 1001 1st Street SE, Velocity is just over a block away from the Navy Yard Metro station on the Green Line and about a five-minute walk from Nationals Park (map).

The project is offering a number of promotions on its website, including limited-time pricing, a $10,000 incentive, and a free parking space.

Velocity is one of the very last residential projects to open in the entire DC metropolitan area and represents the tail end of the condo-building boom that peaked in 2006. The vast majority of buildings that open over the next 12 to 18 months will be rental projects.

Funny how Velocity’s website says “Move in Today!!” when they don’t even have their DC tax ids/lots!!
