The Best Open Houses in the DC Area This Weekend
This weekend’s recommended open houses include a two-bedroom Federal row house in Georgetown, a one-bedroom condo in a Logan Circle row house and a three-bedroom fixer-upper in Silver Spring.
Traditional Two-Bedroom Federal Row House in Georgetown’s West Village

3415 Q Street NW (see map here)
We are aware that this is a two-bedroom property listed for close to $900K, and may seem high-priced for a home of this size in DC. However, we have received a number of requests from readers to feature a home in Georgetown, and regardless of price, this one is beautiful. The two-bedroom Federal rowhouse in the neighborhood’s West Village has a main level with wide hardwood floors, a wood-burning fireplace and French doors that lead out to a patio with a pond and fountain. In addition to a new central A/C system, all new kitchen appliances and a new washer/dryer, the home has a private parking space and is just a few blocks from Georgetown’s main drag. The open house is Sunday, September 13th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.
One-Bedroom Condo in Brick Row House in Logan Circle

1322 Rhode Island Avenue NW, #3 (see map here)
There is a fair amount of temptation in the UrbanTurf office to put an offer in on this unit. The one-bedroom condo is located in a brick row house on a popular block in Logan Circle. That short description, and the photo above, should get you to the open house this Sunday, but for the sake of this post we will give you a few more details. The living area has a large set of bay windows and a wood-burning fireplace, and there are 11-foot ceilings throughout the unit. The bedroom is cozy, but has a large closet and even with just one window, gets a good amount of natural light. The unit is about two blocks from the neighborhood Whole Foods. The open house is Sunday, September 13th from 2 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.
Three-Bedroom (Fixer-Upper) Bungalow in Silver Spring

414 Silver Spring Avenue, Silver Spring, MD (see map here)
For a buyer that wants a home where a little bit of work could pay fairly big dividends, this home in Silver Spring may be a good buy. The three-bedroom bungalow has a great front porch and the rooms on the main level are large and feature the property’s original wood floors. A few of the bedrooms and the basement need to be updated, but the kitchen and bathrooms are new and the back deck leads out to a large backyard (that is in need of some landscaping). The open house is Sunday, September 13th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

Gtown home is expensive, but looks gorgeous, and you are right the Logan Circle condo makes me want to make an offer. Unfortunately, I just bought.
How many square feet is the Logan 1br? Does it have parking? Maybe I’m missing something, but it doesn’t seem like a great deal to me (looks like it might be 600 sq ft or smaller).
I’ve always loved the information Urban Turf provides but the Logan and SS properties seem out of place here. Like Lauren said….maybe I’m missing something, but these don’t seem like great deals.
That condo on Rhode Island is only 512 square feet. I looked it up on the DC tax records. That’s priced at $751 per square foot ... totally over-priced.
