The Best Open Houses in the DC Area

by Mark Wellborn

This weekend’s best open houses include a one-bedroom condo in Logan Circle with a beautiful private roof deck, a huge three-bedroom duplex in Shaw and a two-bedroom bungalow in Del Ray just two blocks from one of the best locally-owned shops in the DC area.

One-Bedroom Condo in Logan Circle with a Beautiful Private Roof Deck

image

1201 Q Street NW, #402 (see map here)

  • Price: $489,000
  • Bedrooms: One
  • Bathrooms: One
  • Year Built: 1906

This one-bedroom penthouse unit just north of Logan Circle may seem a little bit expensive for a one-bedroom unit, but just listen to what you get with this property. The unit has a very spacious living area with rounded bay windows, a separate dining area, a gourmet kitchen with a large island, an upper level den or office area and best of all, an enormous, recently completed private roof deck that has great views (see above). The open house is Sunday, October 11th from 2 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

Huge Three-Bedroom Duplex in Shaw at Less Than $300 a Square Foot

image

1605 7th Street NW, #2 (see map here)

  • Price: $799,000
  • Bedrooms: Three
  • Bathrooms: Three
  • Square Footage: 2,700
  • Price per SF: $296
  • Year Built: 1900

Almost every room in this three-bedroom, three-bath condo in Shaw is enormous. Every bedroom is spacious, with the largest being the master. There are two living areas, and a massive kitchen with a separate dining area. At 2,700 square feet, it is one of the largest condos in DC that we have featured, and at $296 a square foot, is also one of the best priced. The whole property was renovated in 2006, and the building itself used to be an artist loft. The open house is Sunday, October 11th from 1 to 3pm. For the full listing, click here.

Two-Bedroom Bungalow in Del Ray Two Blocks from the Dairy Godmother

image

7 West Wyatt Avenue, Alexandria, VA (see map here)

  • Price: $622,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: 1.5
  • Year Built: 1925

The bungalows of Del Ray have caught our attention again. This two-bedroom cottage was recently updated with new bathrooms and kitchen and there are pine floors and tall ceilings throughout. In typical Del Ray fashion, there is a quaint front porch with a swing, and a huge deck off the back of the home. But the best thing about this property? It is just two blocks from the Dairy Godmother, one of the best custard shops in the DC area. The open house is Sunday, October 11th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

Is that one-bedroom really in DC? Unreal.

wow.  AWESOME condo.  Weird tax assessment though.  Must be a new unit or something?

It’s probably just an error in the listing.  The actual tax assessment is $398,110 according to the real property assessment database.
