The Best Open Houses in the DC Area

  • September 24, 2009

by Mark Wellborn

This weekend’s best open houses include a two-bedroom condo at The Lacey where the price has been dramatically reduced, a two-bedroom home in the H Street Corridor near one of our favorite restaurants and a very well-priced two-bedroom colonial in Bethesda.

Two-Bedroom Condo at The Lacey With a $120K Price Reduction

image

2250 11th Street NW, #106 (see map here)

  • Price: $649,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: Two
  • Square Footage: 1,359
  • Price per SF: $478
  • Year Built: 2008

We don’t think that the price will drop much more on this two-bedroom at The Lacey. Originally asking $769,000, the listing has come down in price by $120K in the last few months. We toured this 1,350 square-foot unit at the grand opening a few months ago and can attest that while the design is for a particular buyer, the unit is very spacious and easy to live in. The duplex unit has floor-to-ceiling windows, top of the line finishes and appliances and access to a common roof deck. The open house is Sunday, September 27th from 1:30 to 4:30pm. Two-Bedroom Home for Under $400K in the H Street Corridor (Near One Our Favorite Restaurants)

image

1208 1/2 Wylie Street NE (see map here)

  • Price: $382,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: One
  • Year Built: 1900

If you enjoyed yourself as much as we did at the H Street Festival last weekend, then this two-bedroom home in the H Street Corridor may be a good buy for you. At well under $400K, this cozy two-bedroom is indeed cozy (the living room is not very big), but has a brand new kitchen and a nice, large fenced-in patio. The added bonus for this home is that it sits right behind Granville Moore’s, one of DC’s best restaurants. The open house is Sunday, September 27th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

Well-Priced Two-Bedroom Colonial in Bethesda

image

4633 River Road, Bethesda, MD (see map here)

  • Price: $675,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: Two
  • Square Footage (Lot): 6,000
  • Year Built: 1938

It is not often that you find homes in Bethesda for under $700K, but this one not only fits that criteria, but also has a large backyard with a patio and a recently redone kitchen. There is also a very bright sun room on the main floor and a den with built-ins. While two-bedroom homes are usually not large enough for young families, this property has an unfinished basement that could be renovated to include another bedroom and bathroom. The open house is Sunday, September 27th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

You forgot the added benefit of telling your snooty friends that you like in Bethesda, and telling your hip urban friends you’re 4 blocks from the Friendship Heights metro!
