This week’s best new listings in the DC area include a three-bedroom Victorian on a tree-lined street in Columbia Heights, a four-bedroom row house in Capitol Hill with a huge master suite and a large Soho-style loft in Clarendon.

We are beginning to think that the best homes for the money in DC are in Mount Pleasant and Columbia Heights.    Just for the record, the Wooster & Mercer is on Clarendon Blvd, but not IN Clarendon by any means. It’s a good mile from Clarendon, about a 1/2 mile from Court House & Rosslyn Metro stops.

   I went to the open house at 1518 Monroe and heard a number of groups trying to figure out what they wanted to offer.

   Wow, over a half million dollars for a studio in Arlington?!  I think I’ll pass.  You can get a really nice 2 bedroom condo in a good neighborhood in DC for that price!

   The price for the place in Arlington may be high, but it is also hard to categorize a 950 square-foot loft as a studio. The Wooster and Mercer Lofts are also uber-nice with a sweet gym and pool.

   It’s frustrating how little inventory is coming on the market these days in DC, particularly in Logan-Dupont-Woodley!
