Open Houses Stay Open Despite the Snowmaggedon
Despite the forecast for massive snow accumulation this weekend and the accompanying paranoia and ration stocking that comes with that (see meat section at local grocery store below), properties around the District are still holding open houses.
If you are intent on visiting your dream home this weekend, our advice is that you only target the open houses you’re really interested in, and call the listing agent ahead of time to confirm he or she will be there.

UrbanTurf asked an area agent recently if the snow means people stay away from open houses. He said that yes, traffic does go down, but noted that the people who do show up are usually buyers who are seriously interested in the property.
So, the upside of the expected 20+ inches is that if you do venture out, you may find that you are the first to get a glimpse of a great deal.
