Del Ray Bungalow That Embraces Radiator Units

There is an entire industry dedicated to manufacturing things designed to hide radiators. But in this two-bedroom Del Ray bungalow, the owners have embraced the aesthetics of the older, metal units, rather than trying to cover them up. The antique-looking heaters warm up the two-bedroom home, both literally and figuratively. They’re a nice, old-fashioned touch in a home that is otherwise pretty modern, with a big outdoor deck, updated kitchen, and high-efficiency washer/dryer.

Ashton Heights Cape Cod with Rocker-ready Porch

The Ashton Heights area has no shortage of Cape Cod homes, and many have lovely front porches, but few have the amazingly deep front porches that are associated with New England Cape Cod homes. This four-bedroom has the goods though—an enormous front porch that would accommodate a fleet of rocking chairs. For those who really want a taste of New England, the current occupants also have a little hockey set-up in the basement suite, but they’re probably taking that with them.

Arlington Loft with Sleek Storage

Loft-style condos are great, but the people designing these minimalist units don’t usually place a premium on storage. Living in a giant, open box requires constant editing and purging of ones personal belongings—those clean lines don’t allow a lot of room for tucked away closets. This Shirlington condo, however, has an entire wall of storage lining the entryway—an ingenious unit that is on the back side of the kitchen. It’s a well designed place to stow away tons of junk, so that the place, which has an open kitchen and an open bedroom always looks perfectly organized.
