New Jersey Resident Wins Free Rent For Life
A New Jersey resident will have one less thing to worry about for the rest of his life: rent.
Martin Hudak of Woodbridge, New Jersey submitted a review of his apartment to Apartments.com in mid-August. The site randomly selected his review as the winner of their Rent For Life sweepstakes from over 155,000 submissions.

“I honestly entered and didn’t even think of winning,” the 47 year-old corrosion technician told UrbanTurf. Hudak’s current monthly rent is $1,025 a month and he has no immediate plans to move. The winner of the contest had the option of having their rent paid monthly for the rest of their life or taking a lump sum cash prize of $545,000. Hudak took the latter.
As for what he will do with the money, Hudak plans to pay of debt, give some to his mother and a charity he is interested in, and invest the rest.
The Rent for Life sweepstakes launched in July. In addition to Hudak, twelve other renters won free rent for a year.
