Half-Hostel, Half-Hotel Concept Comes to Chicago
The common room.
The Sydell Group, which owns Adams Morgan’s incoming The Line DC hotel, is bringing a different concept to Chicago: A half-hostel, half-hotel called the Freehand opening June 1.
A shared quad with bunk beds.
We’ve written about the Ace Hotel-like Line concept, which so far exists only in Los Angeles. Sydell’s continuing its pursuit of the cool hotel with the Freehand concept, and takes the appeal to millennials a step further with shared accommodations.
A King-size room at the Chicago hotel.
Reservations in one of the coed shared quads should run about $35 a night. If you want to stay in a private room, you’ll have to pay more like $160 a night.
The Line DC is scheduled to open in 2016.
