First Look: The Apple Store in Georgetown

The Apple Store in Georgetown opened its doors at 5pm on Friday evening, and we decided to stop by and see if the store lived up to the much-anticipated hype. We snapped a lot of photos, which are displayed below:

The line to get in stretched down Wisconsin Avenue and around M Street.

The crowds inside.

More crowds.

The back area of the store (all white) was also the least crowded.

Yes! I no longer have to go to Arlington!
Can’t wait to see the line on June 24th (which I will also be standing in). At least it’s a good location for people watching
i’ll watch you Schneider
I hear the sound of sheep bleating.
Boo-hoo, David’s upset that the super-exciting Microsoft store didn’t make it into town first. Although waiting in line just to be one of the first people into an Apple store isn’t my cup of tea, I can see why the company has such devotees. The products are by and large outstanding, iPhone 4.0 being the pinnacle thus far.
And as for the people who lament the fall of the mom-and-pop feel of Georgetown, you’re a bit late to be complaining about an Apple store being a setback in that regard. As in, decades too late.
Great pictures, UrbanTurf! DCBlogs gave us both a nice shout out today regarding the Apple store launch. You can read more about the grand opening celebration at http://www.kidTruant.com. Cheers!
