by Mark Wellborn

This week’s Deal of the Week is a one-bedroom condo in Dupont Circle that could be a great unit for an up-and-coming chef. The renovated kitchen is quite large for the unit, and has recessed lighting, a breakfast bar, a built-in knife rack and updated appliances. The living room has a large bay window and a built-in entertainment center, and the bedroom is also spacious and has a wall of closets that provide a good deal of storage. More photos and info below. Up-and-coming chef for what?

Where is the “Chef’s Kitchen”?  This looks more like a dorm room.  It could only be worse if the word “gourmet” was thrown in.

Having been looking in Dupont for awhile, this is a very good deal for a one-bedroom. Hard to find anything decent for under $300K.

Virtually certain unit #2 is a below-ground unit, which explains the low price (and drawn curtains!). Nice big windows considering, but still a non-starter for me.

and the basement bugs, and a festival of silverfish and 1000-legged bugs everytime it rains.
