Best Open Houses: The Logan Circle Edition

by Mark Wellborn

This weekend’s best open houses in Logan Circle include a two-bedroom penthouse with amazing views, a two-bedroom condo in the Barret Schoolhouse and perhaps the best bargain for a two-bedroom condo in the neighborhood.

Two-Bedroom Penthouse in Logan Circle With Amazing Views

image

1425 Rhode Island Avenue NW, PH #2 (see map here)

  • Price: $949,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: Two
  • Year Built: 1927

In the higher tier both from a price and luxury perspective, this two-bedroom penthouse has two enormous walls of windows that give fairly amazing downtown views. Adjacent to the living area is a dining space and gourmet kitchen and off to the side are both bedrooms. The unit comes with two tandem parking spaces and a huge private terrace. Needless to say, this may not be the best home if you are scared of heights. The open house is Sunday, November 22nd from 2 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

Two-Bedroom Condo With Huge Windows in the Barret Schoolhouse

image

1408 Q Street NW, #13 (see map here)

  • Price: $639,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: Two
  • Square Footage: 1,035
  • Price per SF: $617
  • Year Built: 1889

This two-bedroom, two-bath condo is in the Barret Schoolhouse condominium on Q Street to the northwest of Logan Circle. The building was built in 1898 and renovated in 1999, and the unit features 14-foot ceilings, huge windows and hardwood floors throughout. There is a wood-burning fireplace, a gourmet kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The master bedroom also features one of the enormous, old schoolhouse-type windows that makes the entire property stand out. Parking is not included in the listing price, but it is available for rent. The open house is Sunday, November 22nd from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

The Best Bargain for a Two-Bedroom in Logan Circle

image

1321 R Street NW, #1 (see map here)

  • Price: $399,975
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: Two
  • Year Built: 1878

The price on this two-bedroom ground floor unit has been reduced twice and now, at below $400,000, we can’t imagine there being a better deal in the neighborhood. The living and dining area is fairly open, and although it is a little too white for us right now, a paint job could make this a very attractive unit. The open house is Sunday, November 22nd from 1 to 3pm. For the full listing, click here.

The Berret schoolhouse is simply one of the best condos in Logan. Absolutely beautiful and perfectly priced for this building!

Amazing photos.  Logan really is a great place to live, with such easy access to so many other neighborhoods in Downtown.  You definitely picked some great open houses Mark!

the first unit is very spacious and interesting with the private roof access and parking)

the berret school @ 639k without parking?
has anyone tried to park in logan recently?rental parking is fine @ $250 a month ($3k a year) until the owner wants the parking spot back and you’re looking once again for parking.

and the english basement has to be painted white otherwise it’s a dark cave.

each of the units is tastefully designed with or without furniture, though. great choices this weekend!
