Truxton Circle Rowhouse With a Walk-in Closet and Pretty Backyard

Truxton Circle is an oft-overlooked neighborhood, but it’s nestled between Bloomingdale and Shaw and enjoys many of the benefits of both. This rowhouse is a fairly easy walk from Bloomindale’s farmer’s market, the Howard Theater and the Shaw Metro station. The Victorian was renovated in 2005 and has sought-after features like ample exposed brick and built-in shelving. We also liked the spacious walk-in closet, the private, landscaped backyard, and the fact that it is one block from where this UrbanTurfer lives didn’t hurt it’s chances of being included this week.

Pre-Fab Sears Catalog Home in Takoma Park

This Takoma Park listing is a pre-fab, Colonial-style Sears home that shipped to its current address back in 1923. The landscaping and “hardscaping” makes the catalog house feel like it belongs on the half-acre lot, with carefully considered trees and shrubbery that hug the home, as well as a circular driveway, multi-tiered decking and a large grassy yard in the back. The interior is equally considered and impressive.

Eastern Market Victorian With a Prominent Kitchen

When you walk through the front door of this Capitol Hill Victorian, you immediately enter the kitchen, which is huge. Both walls are lined with cabinets, and a sizable island sits in the middle of the room. After that, you get to a few sitting areas: a cozy living room sits in the center of the house, and a dining room, next to a hearth-like fireplace, is at the back of the house. The dining room, which has a brick floor, leads naturally to a brick-lined back patio.
