Best New Listings: Columbia Heights, Chevy Chase, Bethesda
This week’s best new listings in the DC area include a two-bedroom, two-level condo in Columbia Heights owned by an NFL player, a four-bedroom farmhouse in Chevy Chase DC and a three-bedroom split-level home with a great living room in Bethesda.
Two-Bedroom Columbia Heights Condo Owned by NFL Player

1221 Harvard Street NW, #2 (see map here)
This spacious two-bedroom condo in Columbia Heights is located on two levels of a Victorian row house off of 14th Street. It has most of the sought-after amenities that home buyers are looking for these days (new kitchen, rooftop terrace, parking), but both bedrooms are also quite large, so the aforementioned amenities are not taking up all the square footage. If that doesn’t have you interested, the listing description notes that the home is owned by an NFL player (not sure which one), so if you are a big football fan or an autograph hound, this may be the unit for you. Four-Bedroom Farmhouse in Chevy Chase DC

5017 41st Street NW (see map here)
With a large front porch, a nice backyard and hardwood floors throughout, this renovated four-bedroom farmhouse is representative of the properties you will find in Chevy Chase DC. The bathrooms have been remodeled and there is a new powder room. The only downside to the home (and the reason it is priced well for a four-bedroom) is that there is just one full bath for the entire home, so you will likely need to put in at least one more bathroom if you end up as the buyer. Three-Bedroom Split-Level Contemporary Home in Bethesda

6202 Crathie Lane, Bethesda, MD (see map here)
There are a number of things we like about this three-bedroom split-level home in Bethesda, but we are mainly fond of the large, loft-like living room (see above) that looks out to a multi-tiered deck. The bedrooms are also very large for the home, with the third and smallest being the size of most master bedrooms in DC. With a home this nice, the property deserves better photographs, though! Uh, no description for the MD home? Let me get you started: located in Glen Echo, just over the DC line, this house is walking distance to the famed arts center, a converted historic amusement park. The Sangamore shopping center is within easy driving distance. Although the property is relatively far from public transportation, it is located yards from entrance to the Clara Barton Parkway and the Beltway, making it ideal for a family willing to make a short commute by car. There are also biking trails to DC and Virginia nearby.
Love the Chevy Chase home, but 1.5 bathrooms for a 4-BR? Could make for some very long lines in the morning…
My guess is that the Columbia Heights home is owned by Sean Merriman (DE-San Diego Chargers)—Former Univ. of MD star. Cheers.
