A Renovated 89-Year-Old Rowhouse on Reservoir

A traditional facade belies quite a modern interior in this Foxhall Village three-bedroom listing. The renovated interior has wide doorways, recessed lighting in high ceilings and a kitchen with black cabinets and glass lighting fixtures that hang over an island with a breakfast bar. One exposed rafter separates the kitchen from a seating area and doors that lead to a narrow, but long backyard. Upstairs the bedrooms and bathrooms continue the modern theme. The listing comes with a two-car parking pad.

Like the Foxhall house above, this large two-bedroom has a facade that disguises a contemporary interior. The listing opens into a formal living area with a fireplace before leading into an open dining room and then a family room towards the back of the house. The kitchen is placed against the back wall, taking up little space on the home’s first floor and allowing more space for the living area. Doors and ceiling-height windows make up the back wall, and behind that is the a brick patio. Upstairs the bathrooms feature glass-walled showers, brushed metal taps and square basins.

The Oak Grove Victorian in Arlington

Around the Civil War, a family acquired an estate in Arlington and dubbed it “Oak Grove.” The original house burned down and it was replaced by this six-bedroom Victorian with a two-story veranda and wisteria coverage. Parts of the interior could use some updating, but the home is a good option for a buyer looking for a large, historic house.
