Arlington Looks to Approve Amendment For Pentagon City Costco Development

In a week, the massive, multi-phase development in the works for the area around the Costco in Pentagon City will go before the Arlington County Board. The developer, Kimco Realty, wants to move forward with the residential aspects of the project in the first phase, rather than the previous plans, which would’ve built offices first. The Acting County Manager recommends that the Board approve amending the site plan in line with the developer’s changes.

Pentagon Centre is a 17-acre parcel adjacent to the Pentagon City Metro (map). Kimco’s residential plans for the site include construction of a 25-story, 440-unit residential project with 10,700 square feet of retail space, and a 10-story, 253-unit residential development with 15,541 square feet of retail. A seven-story above-grade parking garage with almost 9,000 square feet of retail is also part of the plans. WDG Architecture is the project architect.
The Arlington County Board will take up the amendment next Monday.
