The Arlington County Board is likely to approve developer NVR’s plans for a 63-unit condo development on Key Boulevard at their monthly meeting this Saturday.

NVR intends to construct a six-story condominium building with a total of 63 units, including six three-story townhouse units at 1411-1417 Key Blvd. and 1541 North Colonial Terrace (map). Four of the two bedroom condos are earmarked as affordable units.

While the site is currently designated for “Low-Medium” residential building, both the developer and the staff report filed by the County believe that a “Medium” building would be more appropriate at that location. Relief is also sought in order to decrease the number of required parking spaces, allow six additional feet to the building’s height, and enlarge the building’s footprint.

The changes that the developer looks to have approved are compatible with the County Board’s ongoing strategy to support affordable housing and other community benefits.
