A Georgetown Renovation Goes Nearly $200K Above Asking

This three-bedroom, 2.5-bath Georgetown townhouse was featured in Best New Listings a few weeks ago, and ended up selling for well above the asking price. The new owner gets to live in the fireplace-outfitted master suite and potentially use the finished lower level as an income suite. That should help on the mortgage for this home, which sold in under ten days for $175,000 above asking.

  • Sale Price: $1.77 million

Five Days on the Market for This Palisades Bungalow

This kid-friendly bungalow in the sleepy Palisades neighborhood spent just five days on the market before going under contract for $41,000 above asking. The home’s spacious backyard, front porch and living areas probably won the buyer over, but the kitchen and basement could still use some work.

  • Address: 5815 Sherier Place NW (map)
  • Price: $869,000
  • Sale Price: $910,000
  • Bedrooms: Three
  • Bathrooms: 2.5

A Victorian Condo in Bloomingdale — For a Second Time

UrbanTurf covered this two-level Bloomingale unit in Best New Listings back in 2011, and it still warranted the “best” tag when it hit the market again three years later. The open kitchen and living space in the 1,024-square-foot condo is well thought-out, with plenty of windows and an open staircase that lets light continue unabated into the middle of the home. Upstairs is a loft with a large skylight. The price tag was higher than back in 2011, but it still went about $70,000 above the asking price.

  • Address: 125 T Street NW, #3 (map)
  • Price: $479,900
  • Sale Price: $550,000
  • HOA Fees: $200/month
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: Two
  • Square Footage: 1,024
  • Listing Agent: Seth Turner, Keller Williams Capital Properties
  • Days on Market: 5
