About UrbanTurf
UrbanTurf is a free online media publication that publishes daily articles, news, and commentary about the DC metropolitan residential real estate market.
In simpler terms, it is a site for anyone who has an interest in condos and homes in the DC area. Or, for those who just like to follow the market and get a thrill from knowing how much certain properties sell for and which neighborhoods are the best to invest in.
Unlike many of the national real estate sites, UrbanTurf takes a very intimate look at just the DC metro area, getting down to the neighborhood level to analyze real estate in different parts of the city, Maryland and Virginia. Want to know the best neighborhoods to live in, whether you are an outdoor fanatic, or as well-off as Dan Snyder? Curious about what $500,000 buys you in various DC neighborhoods? Are prices in Dupont Circle finally coming down? What about Bethesda, Old Town, and Clarendon?
UrbanTurf answers all these questions and more. Subscribe and you can also receive our daily updates by email. Enjoy.

Mark Wellborn
Editor & Co-founder
Mark writes or edits virtually all of the content that UrbanTurf produces, so if you have any complaints or accolades, he’s your man. Mark grew up barely within the DC borders and is happy to call himself a native Washingtonian. He has written extensively about real estate in the DC area, New York, and New Jersey, and most recently wrote about the New York City real estate market for The New York Observer. His favorite DC restaurant is Thaiphoon, his favorite bar is The Science Club, and if he could afford to buy a place in DC it would be a row house at 16th and Q Streets.

Will Smith
Publisher & Co-founder
Will oversees all aspects of UrbanTurf, with a particular focus on the business expansion and technology side of things. Coming nine years after the launch of his first online media business, UrbanTurf is his fourth venture as an entrepreneur, a “job” he adores. Chi-Cha Lounge, Habana Village, and Bob & Edith’s are a few of his favorite spots around town. Computer scientist by education, Will grew up just outside DC in Alexandria.
